Southeastern Health

New facility now accepting short-term rehab patients

On December 10, Southeastern Health opened the first phase its new, state-of-the-art, short-term rehabilitation center, Southeastern Rehabilitation WoodHaven, on the back of the WoodHaven Nursing, Alzheimer’s and Rehabilitation Center campus in Lumberton.

This new wing with a separate entrance is for patients who have undergone orthopedic surgery or other conditions requiring short-term inpatient rehab. These patients will now be able to experience close-to-home healing in the newly-expanded facility. The second phase of the renovation/expansion will be complete in the Spring of 2016.

Southeastern Orthopedics surgeons have specialized training in a number of areas including hands and lower extremities, knee replacement and resurfacing, as well as sports medicine. Their partnership with Southeastern Rehabilitation WoodHaven creates a seamless plan of care for patients in need of a variety of surgical interventions requiring inpatient rehabilitation.

Ask your doctor about Southeastern Health’s Southeastern Orthopedics and Southeastern Rehabilitation WoodHaven joint program for a plan of care that gets you in surgery, rehabilitated and back home without ever having to leave your community.

Individuals interested in learning more about joint replacement surgery as well as patients scheduled for joint surgery may attend Southeastern Orthopedics’ Joint Camp which is held the second Tuesday of each month. Attendees meet Southeastern Orthopedics providers and Southeastern Rehabilitation therapists to learn about preparation before surgery and transition to home or rehabilitation after surgery.

The next Joint Camp will be held on Tuesday, January 12 in the multipurpose room at Southeastern Rehabilitation WoodHaven. Registration begins at 5 p.m.; the camp will be held from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. For more information or to register, call (910) 671-4200.
