ABC Board donates to local prevention programs

Southeastern Health’s Community Health Services and the Substance Misuse Awareness and Recovery Taskforce have been selected as beneficiaries of a portion of the Lumberton Alcohol Beverage Control Board’s quarterly sales through the NC ABC Commission’s Talk it Out campaign, which is designed to support underage drinking prevention initiatives. Lumberton ABC Board representative Jan Tedder-Rogers visited SeHealth recently to present the organization’s first check through the program, which totaled $1,909. Pictured at the presentation, from left, were SeHealth Community Health Services Director Lekisha Hammonds, SeHealth Community Health Services Manager Phillip Richardson, Tedder-Rogers, SeHealth Foundation Executive Director Sissy Grantham, and SeHealth Government Affairs & Policy Management Officer Reid Caldwell. The funds will be used to place Talk it Out materials in the Community Health Education Center located within Biggs Park Mall, purchase models and equipment for underage drinking prevention programming and training, and to support the local “Keys to Life” prom season drinking and driving prevention initiative.
