Camp Care Volunteer Training
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church, 5089 Old Whiteville Road, Lumberton, NC
New Camp Care Volunteers are required to attend training in preparation for their first event experience. All volunteers are encouraged to attend. Three modules are required: "Grief 101", "Children's Grief" and the "Orientation to Camp Site." These are provided at the training event. Contact Rev. Dean Carter to register for this event.
Early registration is preferred and interview/photo may be arranged by appointment. Camper and Parent or Guardian must be present at interview. Permission for Participation, Medical History and Activity Releases are signed by the legal Parent or Guardian. The Security Photo ID of the child must be gained by permission.
Those not completing Early Registration by Interview and photo will be required to attend Parent/Camper Registration Night on May 9th from 4-6pm at Southeastern Home Care Services, 2002 North Cedar Street, Lumberton.in order to participate.
Parents and children are given orientation to the goals of the weekend as well as asked to register with medical history and release forms, including parental/guardian permission to attend. A security photo ID is taken of the child. A Pack List will be given in written form for the items needed to create a successful experience.
Saturday, May 20, 2017 - drop off and pickup at Antioch Baptist Church, 5089 Old Whiteville Road, Lumberton, NC.
Beginning with drop off the children will be provided grief activities, fun activities and meals to meet bereavement support needs. A T-shirt to change into will be provided.
