Local business supports hospice

BB&T employees from the local Currency Transaction Monitoring team and Funds Management teams used BB&T Lighthouse Project funds to purchase items for Southeastern Hospice House and its patients their families.

Representatives from the teams visited Southeastern Hospice House on June 24 to present: a brand new side-by-side refrigerator for the family kitchen; a 48” television for the family sitting area; a Blu-Ray/DVD player along with an assortment of DVDs; a wide variety of snacks and drinks; coloring and puzzle books for the children; socks for both men and women; and 100 family member bags. These cloth bags contain a lightweight blanket, memory foam neck pillow, spiral notebook, ink pen, hand sanitizer, bag of candy, note pad, and hand-held fan as well as a greeting card with warm words of support and encouragement. Also donated was a Keurig coffee/tea maker along with a wide assortment of coffee and tea cups, sugars and creamers.

The Lighthouse Project was created six years ago as a way for BB&T to give back to their community in a way that is special to the individuals by providing funds as well as  the “on the clock” time to purchase and deliver donated items.
