I am excited about bringing my medical skills and passion for people to Southeastern North Lumberton. Our team will offer competent and compassionate medical care. As a family physician, my mission is to provide acute and chronic medical care for patients of all ages. Andrea S. Simmons, MD
Dr. Andrea Simmons joined Southeastern Medical Clinic North Lumberton on January 3, 2011. The medical clinic is an affiliate of Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Simmons has been a member of the medical staff of Southeastern Regional Medical Center since September 2008. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and in Biology with a Biomedical Emphais from UNC Pembroke in 2000. She also attended the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University where she received her medical degree in 2005. She completed a residency in family medicine at McLeod Family Medicine in Florence, South Carolina in 2008. Simmons is board certified in family medicine and has special interests in the areas of women’s health and diabetic foot care.
She is the daughter of Dr. Kenneth Locklear and Phyllis Locklear, both of Lumberton. She and her husband, Brian, live in Lumberton and have a 21-month old daughter.

Charlene Locklear, M.D., joined Southeastern Medical Clinic North Lumberton on Oct. 31. She is now practicing alongside her sister, Dr. Andrea Simmons, and Certified Physician Assistant Earl Cummings at the Southeastern Regional Medical Center-affiliated practice.

Dr. Locklear, a Lumberton native, earned a bachelor’s degree in biology/chemistry with a biomedical concentration from UNC Pembroke in 2004. She earned a medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 2008 and completed residency training in family medicine at McLeod Family Medicine in Florence, S.C. in 2011. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has special interests in women’s health and minor procedures. She most recently worked as a hospitalist at Southeastern.
“I am excited to now be practicing medicine in my hometown, where I can give back to my community,” said Locklear. She is the daughter of Dr. Kenneth Locklear and Phyllis Locklear, both of Lumberton.

Earl Cummings, PA
Earl Cummings, PA, a Robeson County Native, attended Pembroke State University in Pembroke, NC and has provided care for the patients in the Lumberton area since completing his Physician Assistant training at Wake Forest University (Bowman Gray) in 1980. Mr. Cummings is also a member of: American Academy of PA’s, NC Academy of PA’s, and NC Medical Society.
Earl Cummings has been a member of the SRMC Medical Staff since 1989 and spent more than 20 years providing both inpatient and outpatient care. In 2009, Mr. Cummings began practice at the SE Medical Clinic North Lumberton. He is married to Pamela Cummings, and he has a daughter April Lynn, and a son Dr. Matthew Cummings. He has an interest in making healthcare affordable and accessible to the citizens of our service area. Mr. Cummings has been involved in the establishment of multiple health care sites in our county.
