Alcohol Anonymous (AA)
This self–help group for recovering alcoholics meets weekly: Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. at Southeastern Recovery Alternatives, 705-B Wesley Pines Rd., Lumberton. Call 272-3030.
For caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, this group meets the second Thursday each month at 6 p.m. in the dining room of WoodHaven Nursing and Alzheimer’s Care Center, 1150 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton. Call 671–5703 for more information.
For grieving individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one, this group meets for five weeks in the fall and spring. Sessions begin on the third Tuesday of September and the third Tuesday of January. Meetings are held each week at 7 p.m. at 2002 N. Cedar St., Lumberton. Sisters Network, a support group primarily for African American women diagnosed with breast cancer, meets periodically at the Dr. A.J. Robinson Medical Clinic, 800 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Lumberton. Call 738–3175 for more information.
The Gibson Cancer Center sponsors support group for individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers.
