Nurse Practitioner: Family practice, all ages. Participated in a one year total immersion in Cardiology with an Invasive Cardiologist in Pinehurst, NC with hospital privileges. Internal Medicine, three years, with hospital privileges, in Sanford, NC Urgent Care.
Registered Nurse: Prior to advanced practice education, Peggy’s experience was in CCU/ICU, Multi-trauma Neuro, and Open Heart/Transplant units.

PERSONAL
Peggy is married to Lt. Col. Jim Newman, a retired United States Air Force Pilot and veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm. They have two children, Courtney and Anthony. Courtney has majored in Forensic Science in College, is married to Reid Johnson who is defending our country having entered the United States Army. Peggy and Jim’s first grandchild, Robert James Johnson was born to Courtney on March 13, 2010. Anthony is a freshman at Sandhills Community College, with an anticipated major of Education, with plans to teach English and minor in Theatre and the Dramatic Arts. His plans are to transfer to NCSU. The Newmans are members of New Center Baptist Church. Peggy enjoys participating in medical missions with her most recent trip, February 2009 to the Dominican Republic. Other interests include family activities, singing (solos and choir), reading, canning, visiting historical sites, bible studies (especially Beth Moore), and of course, UNC Basketball (GO HEELS!!)
