COVID-19 Testing Site Update

The drive-through COVID-19 testing site managed by NC Department of Health and Human Services located in the parking lot of Southeastern Health Park on Dawn Drive, Lumberton has added Saturday hours on 1/15, 1/22 and 1/29 from 8 am - 12 pm. For more on COVID-19 testing, click here.

Low Vision Therapy

Low vision can be defined as a decrease in visual acuity or visual field resulting from a disruption of the visual system.This decreased acuity or field results in an impaired ability to perform work, leisure, or daily living activities

Patients who may benefit from low vision therapy may be suffering from:

  • Macular degeneration
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Cataracts
  • Glaucoma
  • Optic nerve damage
  • Stroke
  • Blurred vision
  • Traumatic brain injury

If any symptoms are present please consult your optometrist for further evaluation and referral to occupational therapy.

Children Preschool/School age

  • Covers/closes one eye when reading
  • Rubs eyes
  • Complaints of double vision
  • Loses place often when reading
  • Poor recall of visually presented material
  • Trouble copying from board

Adult

  • Previously suffered brain injury
  • Wears corrective lenses
  • Blurry vision Double vision
  • Letters appear to jump around the page while reading
