Elizabeth Gignac, D.O. – EM Program Director

  • Medical school: Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, East Lansing, MI
  • EM Residency: Metro Health Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI
  • After completing her residency, Dr. Gignac practiced emergency medicine in the Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL.
  • Dr. Gignac joined the medical staff at UNC Health Southeastern in 2014. She has been program director of the Emergency Medicine residency program since 2015.
  • Dr. Gignac lives in Fayetteville, NC with her husband, two children, and their dog.

Maria Crespo, D.O.

  • MPH: Nova Southeastern University, Davie, FL
  • Medical school: Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Parker, CO
  • EM Residency: Cleveland Clinic – South Pointe Hospital, Warrensville Heights, OH
  • Fellowship in Ultrasound: MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, OH
  • Dr. Crespo’s EM special interests include ultrasound and advanced ultrasound.
  • Dr. Crespo enjoys hiking and mountain climbing, having climbed multiple 14ers!

Brianna Crosby, M.D.

  • Medical school: Wake Forest School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC
  • EM Residency: University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, OH
  • Dr. Crosby joined UNC Health Southeastern in 2016. She is currently the medical student clerkship director and Assistant Program Director for the Emergency Medicine program.
  • Dr. Crosby enjoys travel, reading, and decompressing at Disney World.

Katherine Fredlund, M.D.

  • M.S. in Exercise Physiology: Baylor University, Waco, TX
  • Medical school: State University of New York, University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Buffalo, NY
  • EM Residency: University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC
  • Dr. Fredlund’s EM special interests include ultrasound.
  • Dr. Fredlund is an avid cyclist and hiker.

William McCammon, D.O.

  • Medical school: West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, WV
  • EM Residency: Metro Health Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI
  • Dr. McCammon joined the EM residency program in 2014.
  • Dr. McCammon’s EM special interests include medical informatics.

Kaitlyn Reti, D.O.

  • Medical school: Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Parker, CO
  • EM Residency: Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ
  • Dr. Reti joined UNC Health Southeastern medical staff in 2016.
  • Dr. Reti enjoys traveling, hiking, and surfing.

Lou Rodriguez, M.D.

  • Medical school: University of Medical Sciences, San Jose, Costa Rica
  • IM Residency: Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, NY
  • EM Residency: East Carolina University, Greenville, NC
  • Dr. Rodriguez enjoys skiing on the west coast, cycling, and electric guitar.

Daniel Schroder, D.O.

  • Medical school: Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, Glendale, AZ
  • EM Residency: Southeastern Regional Medical Center, Lumberton, NC
  • Dr. Schroder was the chief resident and a member of the inaugural residency class at Southeastern Regional Medical Center!
  • Dr. Schroder joined UNC Health Southeastern medical staff and the Emergency Medicine residency program in 2019.
  • Dr. Schroder enjoys international travel in his free time.
